Sex and the City’s Cynthia Nixon announced her engagement to longtime girlfriend Christine Mariononi at the Love, Peace and Marriage Equality rally for gay rights in New York. According to her, the couple has been engaged for about a month. Other attendees included actors David Hyde Pierce, Kristen Davis, and Ana Oritz who all gathered to support New York Governor David Paterson’s proposition of  a bil that would grant same-sex couples legal equality.
The couple have been together since 2003, after Nixon reportedly split from her longtime partner Danny Mozes following the birth of their second child.

Nixon plans to start filming for Sex and the City’s second movie this summer.
